Just months after Coca-Cola revealed its first new "permanent" flavor in years, that flavor is going away. WASHINGTON — Coca-Cola is pulling the plug on its newest "permanent" flavor after just seven months. The Atlanta beverage giant confirmed Tuesday that Coca-Cola Spiced is getting discontinued.

Coca-Cola has been quietly discontinuing fan-favorite flavors
After a dose of online speculation, the company confirmed to TODAY.com on Sept. 24 that it would be discontinuing Coca-Cola Spiced — the flavor that made its debut earlier this year. The soda, which combined raspberry and a “blend of warm spiced flavors,” is one of a few on the brand’s slate that folks online have seen disappear from store shelves.

Spiced isn't the only flavor to get cut: On social media, the company confirmed it was ending production of Cherry Vanilla, which launched in 2020, and Diet Coke with Splenda. It's part of a broader culling of its beverage portfolio that started four years ago and meant the end for 200 drinks, including Tab, AHA Sparkling Water and Odwalla
