Coca-Cola Co. has decided to discontinue its recently launched flavor, Coca-Cola Spiced, after just over seven months on the market. The Atlanta-based beverage giant announced the decision on Wednesday, revealing that both Coca-Cola Spiced and Coca-Cola Spiced Zero Sugar will be phased out.

After a short run as Coca-Cola’s newest “permanent” flavor, the beverage company is pulling the plug on Coca-Cola Spiced. The carbonated soft drink, which was branded as being “raspberry spiced Coke and other natural flavors,” launched in February.

Launched just six months ago to meet younger consumers' preferences for spicier products, the raspberry-flavored cola is being discontinued--yet it still outlasted 1985's notorious New Coke.

Coca-Cola described Spiced as “a burst of refreshing notes from raspberry and spiced flavors.” The beverage company’s mission with the flavor was to attract the next generation of consumers, particularly younger patrons who increasingly chose to drink Coca-Cola as a special treat instead of a regular beverage.
