Sunday renowned novelist, screenwriter, and film producer Nicholas Sparks kicked of his tour for his new novel.The New Bern resident held a meet and greet with his fans at the New Bern Books-A-Million.

Sparks — who attended Notre Dame on a track and field scholarship and graduated magna cum laude with his bachelor’s degree in business finance — will sign copies of his latest novel, “Counting Miracles” (Random House $30), at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Schuler Books, 7260 Orchard Lake Road, West Bloomfield.
