Joao Pedro suffered another injury scare on his return to the Brighton team on Sunday, with Seagulls coach Andrew Crofts saying the forward took a ‘nasty hit’ against Nottingham Forest.

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler has now confirmed that Pedro will be back in training on Friday, but insisted he is unwilling to take any risks with the 22-year-old’s fitness ahead of the clash with a Forest side still on a high from their shock victory over Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.

Joao Pedro has done a very good job of enhancing his reputation while he has been on the pitch this season but, as Brighton struggled to find a way past Ipswich, it grew that bit more. Brighton played well for the most part and manager Fabian Hurzeler was adamant that they had created enough to win the match.
